Leanie Brits, Counselling Psychologist

About Leanie

Leanie is a registered Counselling Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (with distinction) from the University of Pretoria (2010). She also holds a BSocSci Honours in Psychology from the University of Pretoria (2004).

Her postgraduate training includes work at Kalafong Hospital’s HIV/AIDS clinic, student counselling services, and rehabilitation settings. She currently works at a Higher Education Institution in the Western Cape, where she is involved in career development, developmental assessments, and mental health initiatives.

She runs an after-hours and weekends private practice in Blouberg Sands.

Therapeutic Approach

Her work is grounded in narrative therapy — an approach that honours each person’s lived experience and helps them examine the stories that shape how they see themselves and their world. In therapy, she works alongside clients to rewrite limiting narratives and step into more empowered, authentic versions of themselves.
